"Come get it done"- Labor on Demand
This is a recent bath remodel we completed due to multiple water leaks. The initial leak was found coming from the shower and it's low quality enclosure. It was original in a home bought and utilized as a rental. Instead of being contained in the shower area, the water was finding its way onto the floor in large amounts. It would then follow it's path of least resistance under the Jack and Jill door and into the adjacent bedroom. Underneath the home, we observed allot water logged framing. The water was traveling down the wall somehow.
After initial demo, it was found that the toilet also had an active water leak and this is where the majority of the water was coming from. Due to a non standard eccentric toilet flange, water was not contained within the drain pipe. Most of it was being dumped into the floor substrate. Luckily it was caught in a reasonable time, avoiding catastrophic damage.
Frameless glass installed, Job Complete!
In the end, we rebuilt the subfloor as needed. Relocated the shower drain and toilet flange to center. Replaced the shower valve. Moved the ac vent up so it would be above the baseboard not in it. Then retiled the floor. Followed by reframing and tiling in a new shower. For finishing touches we installed vinyl trim and repainted the entire room.
